Chatterjack is designed to help teachers develop the writing of dialogue in Key Stage 2. Pupils and teachers can use the material on screen or ideally on an Interactive Whiteboard, and choose from a range of settings and characters, then add dialogue and narrative text.

Chatterjack is designed to help teachers develop the writing of dialogue in Key Stage 2. Teaching direct, reported speech and narrative can be testing – Chatterjack makes it easy as pupils can pick their characters and settings and develop their speech, thoughts, associated narrative and interaction. The computer can be used to start the process and the supplied image files can help pupils to work on their dialogue away from the computer. Completed scenes can be viewed as text and edited, and work can be printed out. A range of additional backgrounds and characters are included, and expansion packs of more background pictures and animated characters can be purchased separately. Teachers can also import their own images and backgrounds.
