cre8txt @ BETT 2008
Monday 3rd of September 2007
At BETT 2008, TAG Learning Ltd. ("TAG") will be launching cre8txt, an innovative writing tool developed by Russell Prue, renowned UK Educational Evangelist and Inventor. Based on a typical mobile phone keypad, cre8txt has been specifically designed to encourage reluctant writers to express themselves through familiar everyday technology. The cre8txt keyboard will be featured on the TAG stand (B56).
TAG Learning is pleased to announce the official launch of cre8txt, a highly innovative hand-held keypad and text translation/predictive software package from Russell Prue, which motivates and empowers reluctant writers of all ages.
Key Features
- Measuring just 98 x 50 x 15mm, the robust cre8txt keypad fits neatly in the palm of the hand, making it easy and unobtrusive to use.
- All common computer functions and text entry can be achieved via the 24 key keypad.
- Multi-tap or predictive text entry modes and fully customisable keypad reaction times provide flexibility in meeting the requirements of different pupils.
- The highly accurate and intuitive predictive writing feature helps pupils to focus on the content of their writing rather than the process of text capture.
98% of pupils now own a mobile phone and so the SMS 'text speak' translation feature motivates pupils who are used to this language and helps develop formal composition skills. The keypad can be used to empower reluctant writers in all areas of the curriculum by providing a common, familiar and portable writing interface to all educational applications that require a text input.
Visitors will be able to see how effectively cre8txt can translate text speak into formal written prose, as well as examples of how cre8txt has been used in the classroom.
Cre8txt is available for £49.99, connects via USB. The text speak translations software is available to all cre8txt customers via a download from the cre8txt website.
