TAG Learning announces the acquisition of "The Big Bus"

TAG Learning ("TAG") is pleased to announce the acquisition of the The Big Bus, including all forty interactive curriculum-based activities targeted specifically at UK nursery and primary schools. This popular collection is in use by over 2000 schools across the UK, including some entire Local Authorities.

TAG's range of web and CD-based content has now been expanded to include The Big Bus following the acquisition of this product range. The Big Bus is ideal for supporting teachers covering the key curriculum areas of ICT, Early Years skills, literacy, numeracy and science with their pupils.

Pilar Cloud, Managing Director of TAG Learning had to say;

"We are extremely excited by the addition of The Big Bus range to TAG's portfolio of educational software content. We identified a weakness in our primary content range and spent months researching the market for products that met our rigorous criteria for;

  1. proven educational benefits
  2. pupil-centric approach
  3. innovation in design
  4. popularity amongst teachers and pupils
  5. SCORM compliancy to ensure interoperability with third party content delivery systems

The Big Bus software definitely fits the bill! Through our renowned R&D and customer service teams, we are committed to The Big Bus customers receiving the best service possible now and in the future."

Plans for The Big Bus

TAG has substantial plans for The Big Bus range in the future. There are four new modules in the pipeline for release over the next 12 months and by the summer, the Big Bus content will be available to subscribers of TAG's award-winning managed e-Portfolio system, MAPS Primary. In addition, TAG will be making some behind the scenes updates to the modules to enable them to seamlessly integrate within a range of Learning Platform and content delivery systems. The goal is to provide existing and new Big Bus customers with the most robust and flexible offering to date, whether that is online or offline.

New modules in detail

Over the course of the next 12 months, four new modules will be launched by TAG. These include:

  • Pushes and Pulls - Covering Forces and Motion, the interactive activities within this module are suitable for all KS1 pupils.
  • The Spelling Castle - This exciting new module for KS2 can be used time and time again. Including spelling rules such as adding 's', 'ing', silent letters and prefixes and suffixes, the children search for characters in the castle spelling words using the 'Look, Cover, Write, Check' method.
  • Habitats - Designed for KS2 pupils this module requires pupils to classify plants and animals, match animals to habitats, design food chains and much, much more
  • Weather - Students at KS2 can use this module to compare weather around the World, understand the seasons and apply their learning to practical problems.
